Final Blog Response

The most important thing that I have learned about my own writing this semester is that it becomes stronger when I analyze books or stories. When I analyze books or stories my writing becomes stronger because I use my thought process together when it comes to citing a quote. Another thing I have noticed about my writing is that it becomes organized when I use the outline method to plot my ideas down, so that it will become easier to put my paper together. When using the outline process, my paragraphs become easier to put together because I would already have my hook, topic sentence, thesis, subtopics and conclusion. The last thing that I learned about my own writing is that I improved my grammar issues. Now that I know how to properly write a paper, I know to always have a topic sentence for each paragraph, so it can introduce the topic that I will explain. I learned that my writing has improved throughout this semester because writing essays has become a more easy task for me to accomplish.

If I had to chance to write and create my own assignment it would be about the process of reaching/trying to reach towards my dream. I would write about this topic because I would want to set my ideas down on a piece of paper and think thoroughly about what it takes and what I have to do in order to successfully get to my dreams. This topic would push me harder to accomplish my goal because it would take time to think about why I chose the dream. It would also motivate me to actually push myself forward to get closer to it. When I would have my paper written and done, I would enjoy to look back at it whenever I feel like I can't handle the pressure of school or even when I just want to remind myself that I'm striving for a dream that I want to accomplish and feel successful for myself. I would want to have at least a paper written for myself to look at because I know I wrote it and I put my heart into it. If I didn't have anything that could push me physically towards my dream, I would know that I have something that can motivate me mentally because I would look back at the paper I wrote.

When I was near towards the end of my high school year I had pressure from my counselor about what path of majors was I going to go. Based on my past years of my education like 8th and 9th grade, I was a terrible student. I never did anything, but waste my time fooling around in school. I never took anything serious. Once the time came that my counselor told me to reflect on my past, I opened my eyes to a different world where I picked a major in which I could express my emotions through art. I boosted up my GPA so I could have been accepted into a Technology school available close to me. So, I turned my life around drastically by attending Thomas Edison High School of Technology where I found the program called "Printing and Graphics." That class had me devoted more into the art major I was looking forward to fo rmy future. After, I graduated high school I chose to enroll at Montgomery College because of my financial needs and because I had background information about the School of Art and Design at Montgomery College. As I attend school everyday I look closer and closer to my future ahead of me and I have high expectations of myself to become a skillful Graphic Designer. Now that I'm at Montgomery College, I still look back at my past and till this day I wish I did way better in school. I learned from my mistake to never fool around with my education because now that I'm in college, everything has changed for me. I knew I had to overcome this obstacle in my life in order to be a successful person and being able to pursue my dreams.

Bourdain believes that people must know their role in the workplace and be humble in order to get promoted in the future. Bourdain realizes that his employers and peers don't like to work with egos. The manipulative Bourdain also discovers that the job is about the customer and not only him. Dimitri, the pasta man who worked at the CIA where Bourdain learns how to cook. Dimitri gains honesty and respect from Bourdain because he knows what he is doing and what he is asked for. Bourdain is someone that the employers relate to because he is "A guy who's come up through the ranks, who knows every station, every recipe, every corner of the restaurant and who has first, learned your system above all others is likely to be more valuable and long-term than some bed-wetting white boy whose mom brought him up thinking the world owed him a living, and actually thinks he knows a few things."

Although, food for me gives me an opportunity to be as a whole with my family within a short amount of time, enjoying food also, allows many opportunities for others to connect within the world around them. Somehow, I think it's crazy to know that something a human does everyday happens to become a way of communication and unity in many different ways. I have been impressed by how food gives me a great opportunity ever since my childhood. Being taught at an early age that everyone sits together at the dinner table really helped me recognize how time can be flexible, and being taught how to balance things out. Not only does food bring families together, but it can bring everyone as a whole. Food will be my life lesson which can be passed on to others so, that they can gain communication with their family and people from around the world.

Start of Intro

Ever since my childhood, my parents taught me that sitting together while we eat was a way where every little moment was brought as a whole. As I age through the years I notice that my mentality became stronger because I know that my sacrifice against my mom's meals will pay off one day. I have learned that being present at the dinner table can become a difficult time now that I'm feeling like a individual person but I appreciate that precious time when I can. As a young adult, I have found it important that food unites my family at a scheduled time, when we sit together at the dinner table, that's when I get to have a chance to connect with them even though I sacrifice that valuable time because of my education.

Thesis Statement

As a young adult, I have found it important that food unites my family at a scheduled time simply because I get to have a chance to connect with them even though, I sacrifice that valuable time because of my education.

Food in my household is an important role. On weekdays we eat breakfast, lunch (if we can) and dinner. Every day dinner is served, it's at a specific time. Making a schedule for food was made because my mom believed that the people in my household had to be healthy and full. On weekends, my family eats breakfast, and sometimes skip lunch, because these are the days we all are well rested and wake up late, so by lunch time our stomachs are already full. Then by the evening my mom cooks dinner. We all eat dinner together at the dinner table at a certain time. However, food is bought every 2 weeks. We try not to waste food because of our financial needs. When I was in high school I ate every meal of the day, but now that I'm in college, it's rare to see me eat lunch or even sometimes dinner. The reason why I sometimes do not eat dinner is because my mom either cooks soup from her country or I just can't sit down at the dinner table to eat. My mom barely lets us eat junk food, just beacause she wants us healthy, so she rather cook food, even if it's late. Even if there is no dinner on the table I grab canned foodm which is easy and fast to do.
