Blog Response 4
Although, food for me gives me an opportunity to be as a whole with my family within a short amount of time, enjoying food also, allows many opportunities for others to connect within the world around them. Somehow, I think it's crazy to know that something a human does everyday happens to become a way of communication and unity in many different ways. I have been impressed by how food gives me a great opportunity ever since my childhood. Being taught at an early age that everyone sits together at the dinner table really helped me recognize how time can be flexible, and being taught how to balance things out. Not only does food bring families together, but it can bring everyone as a whole. Food will be my life lesson which can be passed on to others so, that they can gain communication with their family and people from around the world.

1. Although, food for me gives me an opportunity... (no comma until 'time' is needed, as that's where the dependent clause ends.)
ReplyDelete2. same sentence: also, allows (no comma should separate the adverb and its verb, ever!)
3. , and being taught how to balance things out. (The comma and conjunction don't work because there is a missing subject, which makes this a dependent clause. There are other things that also need to be done to make this clear:
"Being taught at an early age that everyone sits together at the dinner table really helped me recognize how time can be flexible and learn how to balance things out.:
The sentence still is in passive voice and all, but at least the it's now balanced with "helped me recognize how..." and "helped me...learn how" as two parallel actions.
4. others so, that (no comma after so; if you want the 'so' to act as a conjunction between two independents, the rule is that the comma goes before the conjunction. However, no comma is needed if you view what comes after the comma as a restrictive clause!)
